Dear General Vanier Families,

The proposed new boundaries, program and grade structures for all elementary schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board have just been released as part of the proposed Elementary Program Review (EPR) and can be found on engage.ocdsb.ca in both alphabetical order and in the form of a school locator. 

As the implementation of these boundaries is proposed to occur in 2026 (i.e., subject to approval by the Board of Trustees), please ensure that you input your child’s(ren’s) grade level corresponding to that year.

Also, we ask that you carefully read the notes on each proposed boundary map for your child's(ren's) school. Even if your residence is no longer within the boundary, there are instances where grades or programs will be kept at the original school to meet the Ministry of Education requirements.

In the case of our school, the following will apply:

Based on the current boundary, all English program students in Grades 2-3 will continue to attend General Vanier until the end of their Grade 3 year.

Based on the 2026 Elementary Program Review  Boundary, phasing in the French Immersion program shall occur as follows:

2026 - Grade 1
2027 - Grades 1-2
2028 - Grades 1-3 (phase in complete)
