Welcome to Kindergarten at General Vanier Public School
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
My name is Christina Rathier, the very proud principal of General Vanier PS. I am pleased to welcome your family and your child to General Vanier’s Kindergarten program for the 2024-2025 school year!
In order to set your child and your family up for school success in September, the Kindergarten Team at General Vanier would like to invite you and your child to participate in a welcome to kindergarten event at the school. The event will take place on Thursday, June 20th at 6:00 pm at General Vanier Public School.
The event will take an hour and we will begin in the gymnasium where we will introduce you to the kindergarten team and then we will take you on a tour of the classrooms as well as some time for the children to play outside in our kindergarten playground. This will give you and your child an opportunity to meet the educators (ECEs and Teachers), ask questions and network with other families. Networking with other families can lead to fun play dates during the summer and school year which supports the development of healthy friendships and play skills.
We hope that you and your child will be able to attend this event and kindly ask that you contact the school to let us know if you will be able to attend because this will help us to make sure we have enough supplies for each family.
Kindergarten is an exciting time for children and together we will be able to ensure your child thrives as they begin their learning journey with us.
